Dr Laurence Folland

Laurence graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2010 after which he undertook a further 2 years of postgraduate hospital training. This included a year working in an Oral and Maxillofacial unit, gaining experience in all areas of facial surgery and undertaking difficult dental extractions.

The other year was spent in Paediatrics and Adult Restorative Dentistry. Following this, Laurence has been working in general dental practice. In 2013 he passed his exams to become a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Laurence thoroughly enjoys all aspects of dental practice. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, root fillings (endodontics) and he is also a certified user of Enlighten whitening products.

Laurence has completed a Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Kings College London. He finds sedation such a rewarding area of dentistry, being able to help anxious patients through treatment they otherwise may not be able to cope with.

Outside of dentistry he enjoys a sporty lifestyle playing football, running, cycling and snowboarding.

Dr Gaenor Davison BCh D, BSc, FDS, RCS

Gaenor qualified in 1988 from Leeds Dental School. She initially worked in Hospital Dentistry gaining further training and invaluable experience in Oral Surgery and general dentistry.

She started in General Practice in 1993 and has worked in England, Scotland and Wales.

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has a special interest in Oral Surgery, Restorative and Cosmetic Work and Dental Implants. She actively attends postgraduate training courses to keep up to date with new techniques and guidelines, and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.

Gaenor is a fluent Welsh speaker and an avid supporter of the Welsh rugby team.

Alison graduated as a Dental Surgeon from Cardiff School of Dentistry in 1995. She was the only member of her year to graduate with honours; winning numerous awards and prizes including the Wystan Peach Prize for the Most Outstanding Student.

She has worked in Chepstow for over 20 years and has built an enviable reputation. She believes it is a privilege to be able to develop and build long lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Beyond dentistry Alison loves her sport and has a very busy home life with 3 young children.

Specialist Oral Surgeon

Emma is a registered Specialist in Oral Surgery, recognised by the General Dental Council.

She graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2011. After completing a year in general practice, she decided to pursue a career in hospital dentistry, and has undertaken several hospital posts across South Wales and the South West. This has allowed her to gain experience and further her skills in all areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Medicine.

Subsequently, she completed her specialist training in Oral Surgery at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. During this time, she has won prizes at regional and national conferences for her work. She has a caring nature and a keen interest in the treatment of anxious patients. Having completed a Diploma in Dental Sedation at King’s College London, she is qualified to provide sedation for patients who are nervous about having treatment.

Outside of work she enjoys cooking, running and spending time with her family.

Dominic is a GDC registered specialist periodontist. He takes referrals for all patients suffering from periodontitis and is experienced in treating the disease with non-surgical, surgical and regenerative therapies.

Dominic has an interest in managing gingival recessions with soft tissue grafting along with improving patients smiles with cosmetic gum contouring. He also has experience in providing dental implants and managing implant disease.

Dominic is passionate about periodontics which is shown in his approach to achieving the best care for his patients and his involvement in teaching fellow dentists within the UK.

Ffion graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2009. In 2011 Ffion successfully completed a post-graduate certificate in Conscious Sedation at Cardiff University, allowing her to treat anxious patients under intravenous or inhalation sedation.

She prides herself on being an empathetic Dentist and aims to make sure each patient is as relaxed and comfortable as possible during treatment.

Alison Jennings EDH

Alison qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Cardiff Dental School in 2002. She has worked with Alison and Gaenor for 16 years. Alison provides a gentle approach to treatments from simple scale and polishes to more intensive non surgical periodontal treatment.

Alison lives with her partner and enjoys walking her French bulldogs. She also loves gardening, reading, travelling, films and west end shows.

Kirsty Payton BSc

Dental Hygienist & Therapist

Kirsty qualified as a Dental Hygienist & Therapist from the University of Manchester in 2008. She has worked in a variety of dental practices across South Wales gaining valuable as both a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist.

Kirsty provides a gentle, caring approach to treatments ranging from simple scale and polishes to more complex non-surgical periodontal treatment.

As a Dental Therapist Kirsty is able and skilled to carry out basic restorative treatments on adults and most procedures on children's teeth.

Kirsty and her partner moved to the area in 2015. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse 'Matilda' and countryside walks with her miniature labradoodle 'Dougal'.

Jayne Houlding

Reception

Jayne started her dental career as a nurse before switching to reception in 2001. She has worked with Alison and Gaenor for over 16 years. She possesses a lovely calm caring nature that patients really appreciate - as do the whole team.

Outside of work Jayne cares for her grandchildren, enjoys Zumba and is an active member of the Women's Institute.

Deborah Friendship
Practice Manager & Dental Nurse

Deborah started her career as a dental nurse in Chepstow in 1990 and completed the National Certificate for Dental Nurses in 1996. She has worked with Alison and Gaenor for over 16 years

and is an integral member of the team.

She actively keeps up to date with new developments in dentistry and has certificates for Oral Health Education, and Dental Radiography.

Deborah enjoys exercise classes, reading and spending time with her family.

Natasha Jose

Dental Nurse

Natasha began her training in Bristol and qualified as a dental nurse in 2017. She joined our team in November 2019 and has a special interest in oral surgery.
